Sacred History

  • Famous for a miraculous pratima that is slightly in the air hence titled as antiksh ( means sky).
  • Raja Khardushan (a relative of Ravan) created the pratima from balu to worship while traveling as he vowed not to have food before prabhu darshan .
  • After rituals this pratima was kept safely in nearby lake
  • Raja Shripal, suffering from leprosy, was cured by bathing in the lake where the idol was kept.
  • Unknown to reason he performed attham tap and rediscovered the pratima .
  • later Acharya Abhaydev suri performed the Pratishtha in VK 1142.
  • At that time man sitting on horse could pass from under the pratima as it was at that height in the air .
  • In VK 1715, Shree Bhavvijay ji Maharaj performed a Jirnodhar and pratishta in which the height decresed ; currently, only a cloth can be passed .
