Sacred History

• Datta Brahmin became a Shravak and asked a Kevali Bhagwant about his future life.
• According to the Kevali, he was to be reborn as a hen, attain Jati Smaran Gyan upon seeing a Jain Mahatma, and perform Anshan (fasting) until death.
• He would then become a king named Ishwar and again attain Jati Smaran Gyan upon seeing Parshwanath Bhagwan.
• In remembrance of his past two lives, he craved a Pratima of Parshwanath Bhagwan and named it Kurkuteshwar (Kurkut = hen, Eshwar = Raja).
