Sacred History

  • This village is over 2,000 years old and was originally known as Virampur, named
  • after Raja Kumar Vikram Daat.
  • The initial Jinalay was built by him, with Shri Chandraprabhu Swami as the Moolnayak; the Pratishta was performed by Sthulibhadra Swami Maharaj.
  • Jirnodhars were later performed by Raja Samprati in Veer Samvat 281 and Raja Vikramaditya in Veer Samvat 505.
  • In VK 1280, the Jinalay of Virampur was destroyed during a Muslim invasion.
  • A Shravak of Nakora Village had a dream in which an adhishthayak dev signaled the location of 120 pratimas hidden in the nearby Kalidrah (lake).
  • The Moolnayak Pratima was found and the Pratishta was held in Virampur; it was named Nakoda Parshwanath because the dream was seen by a resident of Nakora .
  • There are two more prachin jinalays dedicated to Adinath and Shantinath Bhagwan.
