The credit of this Pratima goes to Shri Herubhai of Shrimali Gynati.
The Mughal kings had broken this Pratima into 9 pieces and thrown them into a well.
Later a Shravak of Ghogha had a dream in which the Adhishthayak dev had indicated him to bring out the Pratima and keep it in Lapsi (a type of Gujrati sweet) of 9 mann (weight measure) for 9 days.
Obeying his words, the Pratima was kept for 9 days accordingly but on the 8th day many people from bharuch came here for prabhu darshan.
Due to their strong eagerness or prabhu darshan, Pratima was carried out from the Lapsi on 8th day.
Due to the divine powers, the Pratima became intact but the broken lines were still visible and hence it is known as Navkhanda Parshwanath.
The new Jinalay has three shikhar’s which is very beautiful.
