Sacred History

• Mangrol was a port city of Saurashtra in ancient times.
• It is said that Kumarpal Maharaj had built a Jinalay in which Parshwanath Bhagwan’s Pratima was done in VK 1263.
• Even Pethad Shah Mantri had built a Jinalay over here.
• Actually, this Pratima was in Vallabhipur, during the Mughal time when that city was destroyed the Pratima were carried to Prabhaspatan, Bhinmal, etc.
• At that time Navpallav Parshwanath Bhagwan arrived in Mangrol.
• During the journey, two fingers of the Pratima were broken and immediately due to some divine powers, they evolved again.
• The Shravak’s said “NAVPALLAV” at that time which is the reason behind the name Navpallav Parshwanath.
