Sacred History

  • Shikharji is one of the holiest Jain Tirths, revered as the Nirvan Bhumi of 20 Tirthankars. The name Shikharji literally means "Venerable Peak."
  • Acharya Padaliptasuriji is believed to have performed the Shikharji Yatra daily using his miraculous Akashgamini Vidya.
  • Bhomiyaji is the Adhisthayak Dev (presiding deity) of Shikharji and is widely revered for his miraculous powers.
  • According to Divya Sanket, Jagat Sheth Mehtab Rai undertook the Jirnoddhar (renovation) of all the Kalyanak Bhumis and also constructed the Jal Mandir Jinalay during that period.
