Sacred History

• Vishaldev, the Raja of Ajmer, established Visalnagar (now Visnagar) around VK 1080 by defeating bhim dev raja of Gujarat as he refused to support him against the Mughals
• Kalyan Parshwanath previously resided in Mehsana, which was established by Mehsaji Chavada before the 13th Century.
• During the Mughal attack (approx. 14th –15th century), the Pratima was secured in a well.
• In VK 1863, it was placed in a Jinalay built by Sheth Galachand ji in Visnagar.
• The name Kalyan Parshwanath comes from the belief that those who worship the Pratima attain salvation.
